Hi Walter and Joanne,
Here are pictures of Perla with some of her new family. She has adjusted beautifully. I can say she feels completely at home with us and has bonded with everyone. She would like Hercules to play with her more often but is accepting of his limits. We had a lot of company over the holidays and she responded perfectly. She is very comfortable here and that makes me happy because that is how I want her to feel. Thank you for a wonderful dog.

Hi Joanne & Walter:
I must say I've been remiss in not writing sooner to tell you how Roxi has been doing. Roxi is already 6 months old! Time is flying by.

First and foremost let me say what a pleasure she is. Roxi has such a wonderful temperment, sweet and loving, yet such confidence! I dare say our 5 year old GSD Bo has pretty much deferred to her in all things including his toys and his food! Which is saying alot about Roxi.

Secondly, she is so gorgeous, with such intelligent eyes and an incredibly beautiful face. Everyone we meet always comments on how amazing she is. She has started basic obedience class - I've included a picture from last Saturday - and I'm happy to say she is doing well and eager to learn.

I can't say enough about Roxi, we are so very happy that we found Monroe Haus and our little girl.

I thought you might like to see a picture of Heidi. Six months of age was like a magical switch was turned on. She is so obedient, intelligent and fun. I don't believe there is anything she couldn't be trained to do. We brought home our new baby boy from the hospital Friday and she was never an issue. Attached are pictures that show the way she is with our son Cole on his first day home and after just 5 days of being home. She also gets along great with our cat. She has fulfilled every expectation I had of her.

Just wanted to let you know how much we are in love with Ilko von Monroe Haus! He absolutely the coolest dog ever. Whenever we go anywhere with him everyone always says he is such a beautiful dog. We thought we would send some pictures along with this letter so you could see that all your hard work pays off!

Ilko is a great family dog and protector. We have 50 acres and wanted a dog to be out when our kids are outside playing to keep an eye on them. If the kids go outside without him he paces every door and window and I have to let him out. Wherever the kids are, Ilko is sure to be there, too!

The recent loss of our beloved German Shepherd Dog Oda-Bea who was sixteen years old left such a void in our life. Her companionship filled our days with so much happiness. The simple routine of caring for another is infinitely rewarding; everyday becomes an adventure and labor of love. Mark and I began looking for reputable breeders almost immediately.

We were very impressed with your website and the pictures of your absolutely gorgeous dogs. After perusing the glowing reference letters from very satisfied customers, we knew we wanted to visit with you and your dogs. A reputable breeder is always far more concerned with placing his or her dogs in the right environment than with their profit margin. And meeting you both and your dogs in person was one of the most positive and pleasant experiences for us.

You spent time getting to know us and answering our queries, and it became clear to us that besides your obvious experience and knowledge in breeding GSD’s, you also have a great love and respect for this exceptional breed of dog. The dogs we met were strikingly beautiful, remarkably friendly, and possessed wonderful temperaments.

We then met Leo von Monroe Haus, four months old, friendly, and extraordinarily intuitive. We call him Atsah (a Navajo Indian word meaning eagle) and each day he fills our life with so much joy and laughter with his exuberance and intelligence that our heartbreak has turned happiness. He learns so quickly and is amazingly friendly and eager to please. We just love him, and everyone who has met him finds him singularly remarkable. Thank you for this furry little gift that we call Atsah.

Juri (Jesko) is growing up as you can see from the photo - we think that he is just beautiful. His disposition is simply amazing as well. We had a gathering of about 35 people at our home on Christmas Eve. We let Juri mingle with the crowd. He never barked at people as they came in, although he sounds a very impressive alarm when people arrive unexpectedly. He enjoyed the pats and praise, but never bothered anyone for attention. There was food everywhere but he never tried to sneak some - he has no idea that "people" food tastes good. And most impressively, he laid down in the kitchen which was pretty chaotic and just took it all in. The guests were so impressed - especially those who own dogs and could appreciate what remarkable behaviour this was from a puppy. We are so pleased with him! We wish you the best in 2004 and hope to come down with Juri to say "Hi" some weekend when the weather is fine.

Jaeger is doing wonderful and I don't think I've ever seen a G.S. this confident at 10 weeks- I'm sure indicative of the time you both spend with your pups in those critical first 8 weeks. He has absolutely no fear of stairs and having him around cats, goats, horses and other dogs, he thinks he's the king of them all. We take him to pick up my son from school and he loves having all the kids handle him. He is a true delight to our family.

November 5th was one of the worst & best days of my life. I had to lay to rest one of the best friends I ever had. It was so difficult but I knew the day had been coming. Everybody heals in their own way, so I started researching for puppies immediately. When I spoke with Walter and he told me about Henry, I knew it was meant to be. His voice & sympathy for what I was going through meant so much to me. He told me about Henry, and I knew I loved them both! When I got to their home, not only was it impeccably clean (I know, I've been in the pet industry for 10 years) but their patience, knowledge, warmth, & beautiful dogs made the trip well worth it! They answered all my questions, spent time with Henry & I while we bonded, and made the transition so easy. I have been Henry's mom for 10 days. Not only is he gorgeous, already smart, he is the sweetest puppy I've ever had.

Kalare is fitting into our family extremely well. She loves people and loves being cuddled. The time you spent with her as a pup really shows. At just 9 weeks she consistently comes when called. Thanks for the best pup I have ever seen. If you have others in my area who are interested in a Monroe Haus pup and would like to contact me, I would be happy to respond. My wife and I are truly happy with Kalare. We enjoy being with her so much.

We are writing to thank you for all of your time, patience and understanding. We are both so very happy with Kinloke. He is an absolutely wonderful little boy. He has settled in very quickly and has been so incredibly easy to train. He is sleeping through the night already at only nine weeks of age and is picking up very quickly with housebreaking. He and Sienna are getting along wonderfully and are inseparable.

It is wonderful to know that breeders of such high integrity and standards are still out there. We spent over nine months researching reputable breeders all over the country and were so very pleased with your facility and standards of practice. All of your dogs are absolutely beautiful and have wonderful dispositions. The amount of love you show each and every one is second to none.

We had very high hopes to fill and you without a doubt have surpassed all of our expectations. Kinloke is an extremely handsome male with amazing food drive and unbelievably strong nerves. We are very much looking forward in developing him to his full potential, and promise to keep you informed with his progress. We just got a digital camera and took some pictures of our little boy (who's getting much bigger)! Everyday we feel like we have the best dog in the entire world. We are constantly stopped on the streets by people who cannot believe how gorgeous and well behaved Hoffa is. We love him so much and are so happy we found you and Joanne.

He is really enjoying his first spring and all that comes with-birds, thunderstorm, and squirrels. He has made a bunch of new friends that he plays with regularly. We've been exposing him to lots of people, including children, and other dogs, which has made him very well socialized. We are also diligent with our trainning,which Hoffa loves. We are attaching some pictures of Hoffa that we took after a long walk. We'll send more pictures very soon. Hope all is well.

My name is Andrew Fraser and I worked for the Barretts. During this time period, their first dog Ariel became very attached to me. The Barretts, who are very generous, allowed for my wife and I to “adopt” her when I vacated my position. We wanted to let you know that she is a terrific addition to our lives. People are in awe when they see how gentle she is with children, and how playful she is at almost 5 years. Everyone asks as to where we found such a beautiful dog (so of course I have to give them a life’s story). Anyway I hope you find the picture of her attached. I did also want to ask if Astelle that is pictured in references is her sister? They look like the same dog. When I come across it, I’ll send you a photo of Cassey and Ariel together.

I have always believed that all good things come to those who wait and finding our newest furry family member proved no different! Our search to find a quality, well-bred, solid tempered, and beautiful German Shepherd took 7 months! We searched breeders from Seattle to Maine and all along the Eastern seaboard. We drove to breeders' facilities within a four state area of CT and were stunned at the conditions and lack of knowledge these places displayed. My horrors came to a screeching halt when I happened upon your attractive website. I was promptly impressed by the beauty and regalness of your German Shepherds but would you back it all up with knowledge, integrity, and quality? This was my question and concern---but not for long!

We cannot thank you enough for your compassion for the breed but also for us as a family! You were patient and kind when during this whole process we suffered 2 family tragedies. You gave us time and patience to do what was best for our family and our new puppy. We never felt pressure and it allowed us to do make a smooth transition for puppy and our family! And oh my this puppy...

I am certain she will be the best dog ever out of Monroe Haus! (of course I am biased to a fault!) She is full of character and wit! Her looks are simply staggering with deep rich color and an air of confidence. Her physical build and integrity are unquestionably solid. People are already stopping us and asking us from where she came. They truly gush over her and her looks! But the biggest test for me was how would she treat our 4 year old daughter. Our senior Shepherd, Chloe, is incredibly good with our little girl and we did not know if any other dog would be so gentle and loving. Well, not to worry! Even at 11 weeks, Piper pals around with our little girl and is quite gentle with her. She already seems to understand that our little girl is her charge for playing and guarding. Walter and Joanne, there are not quite the words for me to express my gratitude to you for our Piper (your Heidi)! I have no doubt she is exactly what we were searching for in our next German Shepherd! Perhaps the words of my little girl say it best. She turned to me as the puppy lay along the length of her leg and said, " Mommy, Piper is my dream come true! Thank you and daddy for getting her from Mr.Walter for me."
